Itachi’s Mangekyo Sharingan allowed him to vastly increase his existing power and techniques.
In his left eye he could use Tsukuyomi to trap his opponent’s mind in an illusionary world.
In his right eye he could use Amaterasu to create a black flame. He could then direct this flame to burn through anything in his path!
