Sasori was always sad as a child due to the fact his parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake (the father of Kakashi Hatake).
However, when his grandmother Chiyo introduced him to the art of puppetry he grew a little happier!

Sasori’s parents died when he was young, leaving him in the care of his grandmother, Chiyo. It was Chiyo who first taught Sasori the art of puppetry.
Over time Sasori developed a technique to convert human corpses into puppets. This allows him to use any of the ninja abilities they possessed during their life.
Eventually, Sasori even converted his own body into a puppet, giving himself eternal life in the process!
