Hidan controls his scythe with a long cable that is connected to a coil hidden under his robe.
He is able to use the scythe to deflect shuriken thrown at close range!

Hidan was often shown to be a sadist, taking extreme pleasure in the pain he caused his victims.
At times his behavior also bordered on insanity. He was often heard shrieking loudly while attacking!

Hidan’s immortality unfortunately made him very arrogant and he often engaged opponents with little regard for strategy.
He was often ridiculed both by Kakuzu and Shikamaru for being so foolish.

I like this picture of Hidan and you can see him holding his triple bladed scythe in the picture.
I also like all the red clouds in the picture which represent the Akatsuki organization.

Hidan has has an amulet around his neck which is a symbol of the Jashin religion.
He even used the amulet to pray to his god before battling!
